Tata Steel has recorded its highest-ever annual production in India, signalling strong momentum in the country’s infrastructure and construction sectors as demand for core materials continues to rise. The company’s output growth underscores how domestic steel consumption is being driven by urban expansion, industrial activity, and large-scale public investment.

Tata Steel India production reached 23.48 million tonnes in FY26, marking an 8% year-on-year increase, according to the company’s latest operational update. The growth was primarily supported by capacity ramp-up at its Kalinganagar facility, even as operations at its Jamshedpur plant faced temporary disruption due to maintenance-related shutdowns. The Tata Steel India production milestone reflects broader shifts within the country’s manufacturing and infrastructure ecosystem.
