Governor Sinha Inaugurates Srinagar Smart City Projects

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated three key Srinagar Smart City Projects and 25 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) projects, marking a significant milestone in the city’s urban development. The projects include the transformation of Polo View into a pedestrian-oriented shopping street, renovation of the Abi Guzar Shiv temple, and addition of Smart Advanced Traffic Management vehicles to the Srinagar Smart City fleet.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the dedication of 16 development projects in 11 ULBs, along with the unveiling of nine solid waste management facilities in 10 ULBs. These initiatives, aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure, are expected to have a positive impact on the overall quality of life in Srinagar.

The revitalisation of this central area is expected to attract more visitors, boost retail sales, improve the overall visitor experience, and contribute to a more liveable environment. He also revealed plans to develop similar markets in Residency Road, Lal Chowk and the old city, aligning with the city’s vision of achieving infrastructure on par with other major cities in the country.

The Srinagar Smart City Projects and Urban Local Bodies projects reflect the administration’s commitment to transforming Srinagar into a modern and well-connected city. By implementing innovative urban solutions and leveraging smart technologies, the city aims to enhance the overall urban experience for residents and visitors alike.
