Nashik’s Satpur Industrial Estate Demands Urgent Civic Remediation

Nashik: The entrepreneurial community at Satpur Industrial Estate has voiced serious concerns over the deteriorating civic amenities despite the Nashik Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) assurances of pre-monsoon preparedness. Issues ranging from uncollected garbage to dysfunctional streetlights and dilapidated roads have sparked frustration among industrialists, prompting a call for immediate municipal intervention.

Entrepreneurs, represented by the Nashik Industries & Manufacturers’ Association (NIMA), have directly confronted municipal authorities to address these pressing issues. Sanjay Gosavi, Divisional Sanitation Inspector of Satpur, and Abhinaya Kale from Ghantagadi were summoned to witness firsthand the neglect plaguing the industrial area’s infrastructure.

During the inspection, a garbage truck was hastily dispatched to clear accumulated waste, offering a temporary respite to the sanitation woes. Gosavi assured stakeholders of regular upkeep moving forward, acknowledging the necessity for sustained cleanliness measures.

An official from NIMA underscored the ongoing inconvenience faced by businesses in Satpur due to delayed municipal responses. “Despite repeated complaints, essential works by the concerned department of the Nashik Municipal Corporation remain unattended. While immediate action followed our outcry, these efforts must be consistent to avoid future protests,” the official remarked.

Entrepreneurs have highlighted the persistent challenges affecting daily operations within the industrial estate. Prolonged garbage accumulation not only poses health risks but also disrupts business activities. Moreover, malfunctioning streetlights have heightened security concerns, contributing to safety lapses and incidents of theft.

Road conditions have also been a sore point, with numerous potholes posing hazards to vehicles and commuters even before the onset of monsoon rains. Entrepreneurs are adamant about the need for proactive maintenance of these critical services to prevent further disruptions, urging the municipal corporation to uphold accountability and responsiveness in addressing these long-standing grievances.

The situation in Satpur Industrial Estate underscores the broader imperative for efficient urban management and swift redressal of civic issues to foster a conducive environment for business growth and community well-being in Nashik.
