JAIPUR: The Jaipur Meteorological Office has projected the onset of southwest monsoon in Rajasthan between June 26 and June 28, signalling relief from the scorching heat as pre-monsoon showers escalate humidity levels across the state. Anticipated to enter via Kota, Jhalawar, and Baran districts, this year’s monsoon has been delayed by nearly a week, prompting varied weather patterns and heightened precipitation prospects.

Jaipur recently experienced warmer-than-usual morning temperatures, recording a minimum of 29.6 degrees Celsius, with afternoon highs reaching 39.2°C despite sporadic rainfall. Evening skies cleared, marking a transition into monsoon anticipation amidst meteorological projections. “The southwest monsoon is expected to be above average in Rajasthan this year,” affirmed meteorologists, highlighting predictions of moderate to heavy rainfall across numerous districts including Kota, Jhalawar, Baran, Sirohi, Udaipur, Dungarpur, and Banswara.
