Amrapali Kata Takes Charge as GHMC Chief

Senior IAS officer Amrapali Kata has officially taken charge as the new Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), following a series of administrative reshuffles within the state. Amrapali Kata succeeds Ronald Rose, who has been transferred to another post, and she assumes her new role with Full Additional Charge (FAC).

The transition took place on Wednesday, with outgoing Commissioner Ronald Rose handing over responsibilities to Amrapali Kata. The new Commissioner was warmly welcomed by GHMC officials, marking the occasion with a floral reception. Among those greeting her were LB Nagar Zonal Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil, Kukatpally Zonal Commissioner Apoorva Chauhan, and Serilingampally Zonal Commissioner Upender Reddy, each presenting her with a bouquet as a gesture of goodwill and support.

Amrapali Kata, known for her administrative acumen and proactive approach, steps into her role at a critical juncture for the GHMC. Her appointment is anticipated to bring renewed vigour to the corporation’s ongoing projects and civic initiatives. Her previous postings have highlighted her capability to handle urban development and governance challenges, making her a fitting choice for the GHMC’s top position.

As the new Commissioner, Amrapali Kata is expected to address a range of urban issues, from infrastructure development to public health and sanitation, ensuring that the city’s municipal administration operates efficiently and effectively. Her leadership is poised to enhance the corporation’s efforts in providing better services and improving the quality of life for Hyderabad’s residents.
