Rain Brings Relief to Lucknow

Lucknow : A continuous spell of rain from Saturday evening until Sunday morning provided much-needed respite from the heat, bringing cool and pleasant weather to Lucknow. The city’s residents enjoyed the refreshing change, which is expected to persist with light rain forecasted for the next two days.

According to the state meteorological department, light rain is anticipated on Monday and Tuesday, followed by moderate rainfall with occasional thundershowers on Wednesday and Thursday. The city will remain under cloud cover throughout the week, ensuring a sustained period of cooler weather. A senior scientist of the state Met department reported that from Saturday evening to Sunday morning, Lucknow recorded 25.1 mm of rainfall. “For the next two days, the rainfall activity will weaken. Thereafter, the city will witness moderate showers,” he stated. On Sunday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 31.1 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively. The rainy Sunday morning and persistent cloud cover throughout the day contributed to the pleasant weather during the morning hours. However, by the evening, the high humidity levels were noticeable, a common occurrence during the monsoon season. Looking ahead, the forecast for Monday indicates light rain with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to be 32 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. The weather predictions include rain or thundershowers with one or two spells of rain and a predominantly cloudy sky.

In addition to Lucknow, rain and thundershowers are expected in many places across the state, providing widespread relief from the summer heat. The ongoing monsoon season is crucial for the region, not only for cooling the temperatures but also for replenishing water reserves and supporting agricultural activities. The persistent rainfall and cooler temperatures are a welcome change for the residents of Lucknow, who have been experiencing high temperatures and humidity. The continued rain will likely maintain the city’s pleasant weather, providing an opportunity for residents to enjoy the outdoors without the oppressive heat. The state meteorological department’s forecast suggests that the weather pattern will remain favourable throughout the week, ensuring that the city stays cool and comfortable. As the monsoon progresses, the periodic rain and cloud cover will continue to offer relief, making it easier for residents to go about their daily activities.
