Rajasthan’s Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur Deluge according to Heavy Rainfall Insights

Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur districts in Rajasthan have witnessed significant rainfall over a 24-hour period, continuing the trend of widespread precipitation across the state, according to reports from regional meteorological offices.

During the period ending at 8:30 am on Tuesday, the Jaipur Met office noted varying intensities of rainfall. Light to moderate showers, accompanied by thunderstorms, were reported in several locations, with heavy rainfall concentrated in Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur districts. Kalwad in Jaipur recorded the highest rainfall at 93 mm, followed closely by Malarna in Sawai Madhopur with 85 mm. Other notable figures include 78 mm in Sambhar (Jaipur), 69 mm in Chauth Ka Barwara (Sawai Madhopur), and 57 mm in Merta (Nagaur).

Forecasting the weather ahead, the Met office predicts continued rain and thunderstorms in parts of Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Bikaner divisions over the next two days. Moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunder, is expected to persist in southern Rajasthan divisions of Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Kota during Tuesday and Wednesday. Additionally, heavy rainfall is anticipated in parts of the Udaipur division.

However, meteorologists anticipate a gradual reduction in rainfall activity starting Thursday, indicating a potential respite from the current spell of heavy downpour across the region. The recent surge in rainfall has both positive and negative implications for Rajasthan. While it replenishes water reservoirs and supports agricultural activities, heavy rain also poses challenges such as localized flooding and potential disruptions to transportation and daily life.
