LDA Plans Land Acquisition for Key Projects

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to initiate a comprehensive land acquisition drive for three major projects: Wellness City, IT City, and Education City. These ambitious developments, under the Mohan Road Scheme, mark a pivotal step in Lucknow’s urban expansion and are expected to transform the regional landscape.

The LDA plans to establish dedicated camps starting in August to expedite the acquisition process. The authority has formed committees tasked with engaging directly with farmers and landowners in the designated areas. The land procurement will be conducted through mutual agreements, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Moreover, the LDA has pledged to take decisive action against any illegal constructions that fall within the purview of these proposed projects. The envisioned Wellness City is set to occupy approximately 1,200 acres in several villages, including Bakkas, Chaurahia, Chaurasi, Dularmau, and Noorpur Behta, all located along Sultanpur Road. This project aims to create a dedicated zone for healthcare, wellness facilities, and related services, thereby positioning Lucknow as a hub for medical tourism and holistic health.

Concurrently, the IT City project will span around 1,710 acres and encompass a broad expanse from the villages of Bakkas to Bhatwara, strategically situated between Sultanpur Road and Kisan Path. This initiative aims to cultivate a robust ecosystem for technology and innovation, fostering an environment conducive to IT companies and startups. The development of IT City is anticipated to attract significant investment and generate employment opportunities, further bolstering the local economy. Additionally, the Education City project seeks to create an educational hub, providing world-class facilities and infrastructure for schools, colleges, and research institutions. This initiative underscores the LDA’s commitment to enhancing the city’s educational landscape and making Lucknow a centre of academic excellence.

The LDA’s proactive approach to these projects reflects a broader strategy to stimulate growth and development in Lucknow. By establishing clear channels of communication and cooperation with landowners, the authority aims to streamline the acquisition process and minimise potential conflicts. This inclusive approach is vital for maintaining public trust and ensuring the smooth execution of these transformative projects. The proposed developments are not only expected to boost Lucknow’s economic profile but also to elevate the city’s status as a destination for wellness, technology, and education. As the LDA prepares to launch these initiatives, the focus will be on achieving a balanced and sustainable growth model that benefits all stakeholders involved.
