ECR Focuses on Modern Tech for Rail Upgrades

The General Manager (GM) of East Central Railway (ECR) convened a high-level meeting with the Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) from all five divisions at the ECR headquarters in Hajipur on Friday to evaluate the progress of various ongoing railway projects. The focus of the meeting was on leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance the railway infrastructure across the region.

During the session, the DRMs from Danapur, Sonepur, Samastipur, Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya, and Dhanbad divisions presented updates on their respective projects and outlined the challenges they are encountering. The GM commended the efforts of each division but emphasised the urgent need for improvements in punctuality, infrastructure development, and the timely completion of station redevelopment projects under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). A key takeaway from the meeting was the GM’s call for the integration of state-of-the-art technology to elevate the efficiency and quality of railway infrastructure. The GM highlighted the importance of adopting advanced technological solutions to streamline operations and enhance passenger convenience.

The meeting also addressed critical areas such as increasing goods loading capacity, enhancing employee welfare, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness within station premises. The GM underscored that modern technology would be instrumental in achieving these objectives and improving overall service quality. The focus on modernising infrastructure aligns with broader efforts to boost the railway sector’s efficiency and passenger satisfaction.

By prioritising technological innovation, ECR aims to address existing challenges and set new benchmarks for railway operations. This strategic push towards advanced technology is expected to play a pivotal role in transforming the East Central Railway network, ensuring that it meets the evolving demands of passengers and operational requirements.
