SWREL Lands Rs550 Crore Solar Contract in Rajasthan

New Delhi: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) has secured a significant contract for the Engineering, Design, Testing, and Commissioning of a large photovoltaic (PV) plant in Rajasthan. The project encompasses a 400 MW AC / 633 MW DC PV plant and includes the supply and construction of a 33/220 kV switchyard. The total contract value, inclusive of taxes, levies, and duties, is estimated at over Rs550 crore.

The announcement of this prestigious order underscores SWREL’s growing footprint in the Indian renewable energy sector. The contract, awarded by a prominent private renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP), highlights the firm’s expanding role in the domestic market. “We are excited to have secured this substantial domestic order,” commented the Global CEO of Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group. “The Indian renewable energy market is experiencing rapid growth, and as a well-established player in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sector, we are well-positioned to capitalise on this high-growth opportunity.”

With this latest achievement, SWREL has accumulated approximately Rs900 crore in domestic order inflows for the second quarter of FY25. This follows a robust order inflow of Rs2,170 crore in the first quarter. The company remains optimistic about sustaining this growth trajectory, bolstered by a strong pipeline of domestic bids. The Rajasthan project further reinforces SWREL’s commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure in India. The plant will significantly contribute to the country’s solar energy capacity, aligning with the broader goal of enhancing sustainable energy solutions. As SWREL continues to expand its project portfolio, it is set to play a pivotal role in driving the nation’s renewable energy ambitions forward.
