Pune Faces Water Cuts on August 21

Pune residents are bracing for significant water supply interruptions on Thursday, August 21, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes essential maintenance and electrical upgrades across multiple water treatment plants. This scheduled work is set to impact the city’s water supply, leading to low-pressure and delayed water delivery on Friday, August 22.

Key facilities undergoing maintenance include those located in Wadgaon Dhayari, Warje, Pune Cantonment, SNDT, and the Parvati area. The PMC has advised residents to prepare for the disruptions, which are expected to affect a wide range of localities. The affected areas span across numerous parts of the city. Residents in Peth areas, Kothrud, Koregaon Park, Kharadi, Shivajinagar, Swargate, Bibvewadi, BT Kawade Road, Phursungi, Hadapsar, Solapur Road, and the Pune and Khadki cantonments will experience water cuts. Additionally, localities such as Aundh, Bopodi, Pune University, Law College, Karve Road, Himali Society, Pashan, Bhugaon, Bavdhan, Bhusari Colony, and Sus Road are also slated for interruptions.

The PMC’s water department, led by Chief Engineer [Name], has communicated the necessity of these maintenance operations to ensure long-term improvements in water treatment and distribution. Despite the temporary inconvenience, the upgrades are aimed at enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the city’s water supply infrastructure. Residents are urged to conserve water and make necessary arrangements in advance to mitigate the impact of the disruptions. The PMC has promised to expedite the maintenance work to restore normal water supply as swiftly as possible. As Pune navigates these water supply challenges, the focus remains on ensuring that the city’s essential infrastructure operates optimally to meet future demands.
