The Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MRCL) has announced significant plans to address the infrastructure challenges resulting from its ongoing construction projects. In a recent development, MRCL has resolved to dismantle redundant barricades along the Indore Metro route and undertake a comprehensive reconstruction of roads that have sustained damage due to the construction activities.

On Wednesday, a senior MRCL official conducted an extensive on-site review of key operational areas within the Super Priority Corridor. This inspection included a thorough examination of station control rooms, ticketing machine rooms, signalling equipment facilities, and telecommunications infrastructure. During the inspection, the official directed the relevant authorities to expedite the process of road reconstruction to alleviate traffic disruptions. The focus is on removing unnecessary barricades that have been hindering the smooth flow of vehicular movement. The MRCL has set an ambitious deadline to commence commercial operations along the approximately six-kilometre-long Super Priority Corridor by December this year.

Furthermore, the extension of this corridor to Robot Square is projected to be completed by mid-2025. The decision to rebuild affected roads and remove excessive barricades underscores MRCL’s commitment to minimising the impact of construction work on daily commuters and enhancing overall traffic management in the region. This initiative is expected to improve road safety and reduce congestion, providing a more efficient travel experience for residents and visitors alike. The MRCL’s proactive measures reflect a growing focus on integrating infrastructure development with community needs, aiming to strike a balance between advancing urban transport solutions and addressing the practical challenges faced by the local population.
