SJVN Green Energy Secures INR 1,400 cr Wind Power Project

SJVN Green Energy, a subsidiary of state-owned SJVN Ltd, has emerged as the winner in a tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The company has secured a 200 mw wind power project, requiring an investment of INR 1,400 crore. The project details were disclosed in a filing submitted to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

According to the BSE filing, the wind power project will be developed anywhere in India under an engineering procurement construction (EPC) contract. The estimated cost for the construction and development of the project is INR 1,400 crore. This successful bid further strengthens SJVN Green Energy’s portfolio in the renewable energy sector. The competitive bidding process was part of SECI’s initiative to select wind power developers for the establishment of 1,200 mw inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected wind power projects in India, known as Phase-XIV. SJVN Green Energy actively participated in the process to attract qualified and capable developers to expand India’s wind power capacity.

By securing the 200 mw wind power project, SJVN Green Energy has showcased its expertise and reinforced its commitment to renewable energy development. The project’s successful bid reflects the company’s dedication to contributing to India’s renewable energy targets and reducing its carbon footprint. Wind power has emerged as a key component of India’s renewable energy sector, offering immense potential for clean and sustainable electricity generation.
