MPMRCL Reviews Progress of Bhopal Metro Corridor Construction

A proactive move to monitor the development of Bhopal’s metro infrastructure, S Krishna Chaitanya, Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), conducted an on-site inspection of the construction progress along the priority corridor extending from AIIMS Station to the DRM Office station, including the Subhash Nagar depot. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the metro project, which is slated for completion by May 2024.

The site inspection took place following a successful trial run conducted in September 2023, which marked a significant milestone for the metro project. Senior officials, including Shobhit Tandon, Director of Systems, Ajay Gupta, Director of Projects, and Sanjay Singh, General Manager of Civil Works, joined Chaitanya to assess the current state of the construction and engage with various stakeholders. Chaitanya’s visit was characterised by a thorough discussion with representatives from different departments, general consultants, and metro construction contractors.
