The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has utilised about INR 131.52 crore under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and the Local Area Development Authority (Lada) for development of Kullu in the past 10 years. Additionally, NHPC has also generated employment opportunities for locals of the region. The corporation has contributed towards economic growth and improvement of the standard of living of internal and external stakeholders and society at large.
The subsidiary of NHPC managing the 800 mw Parbati Hydro Electric Project (Phep-II) has provided an amount of INR 108.79 crore under the Lada funds after 2012. Furthermore, an amount of INR 4 crore has been allocated for the extension building of the Regional Hospital, Kullu.
This initiative by NHPC has helped in creating infrastructure for the region, improving healthcare facilities and generating employment opportunities. The corporation aims to continue contributing towards development of the region through various CSR activities and initiatives.
The efforts of NHPC in the region have been applauded by locals, and this initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the overall growth and development of Kullu.
