World’s First 3D-Printed Temple Unveiled in T’gana

Siddipet in Telangana has become the home of a groundbreaking architectural wonder as it unveiled the world’s first 3D-printed place of worship. Standing at an impressive 30 feet and sprawling across 3,800 sq ft, this unique three-part Hindu temple is a testament to human innovation and technological advancements. Developed in collaboration between Apsuja Infratech and Simpliforge Creations, the temple showcases the immense potential of 3D printing in the construction industry, pushing the boundaries of design and engineering.

The temple complex features three distinct sanctums, known as Garbhas, each dedicated to a different deity. The first sanctum represents Lord Ganesha and takes the shape of a Modak, a fig-shaped delicacy associated with the deity. The second sanctum, called Shivalay, is a square abode devoted to Lord Shankar, while the third sanctum features a lotus-shaped structure as a home for Goddess Parvati.

The meticulous design and concept of the temple were developed and evaluated by Professor KVL Subramaniam and his research group from the civil engineering department of the renowned Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. With the expertise of the research group and Simpliforge Creations’ in-house developed 3D printing system, this architectural marvel has become a reality.

Simpliforge Creations, a leading provider of turnkey solutions in 3D-printed construction, has hailed this project as a milestone for the industry. The temple’s construction showcases the capabilities of Simpliforge’s robotic arm system, which was used to 3D print the entire structure on-site.

The successful completion of the Shivalay and Modak structures marks the completion of Phase-I, with Phase-II already underway. Phase-II will involve the construction of the lotus-shaped sanctum and tall spires known as Gopurams.
The unveiling of the world’s first 3D-printed temple in Siddipet marks a historic moment in architectural innovation. Combining traditional beliefs with cutting-edge technology, this remarkable structure showcases the seamless integration of human creativity, technological prowess, and architectural finesse.
