TEKLA BIM Awards Recognise Outstanding Construction Projects in the Middle East

Trimble, a leading digital construction solution provider in the Middle East, is set to host the TEKLA BIM Awards event in September to acknowledge and honour construction industry players and remarkable projects in the Middle East region. The awards highlight the transformative impact of innovative construction methods and celebrate the achievements of companies utilising Tekla software in their projects. With submissions open from April 4 to May 31, 2023, Trimble aims to showcase visually stunning structures and inspire more companies to embrace technological advancements in the construction industry.

As a pioneer in construction technology, Trimble recognises the impressive growth and development of extraordinary structures in the Middle East. The TEKLA BIM Awards serve as a platform to acknowledge the contributions of innovative users of Tekla software in advancing the construction industry. Trimble encourages participation from companies that have utilised innovative solutions for their projects in the previous year.

In recent years, the Middle East has witnessed significant development in major projects, driven by the focus of governments on infrastructure and economic expansion. Countries such as KSA, Qatar, UAE, and Egypt have experienced substantial growth in the construction sector. For instance, the UAE’s construction market was valued at $86.7 billion in 2022, and industry reports predict an Average Annual Growth Rate (AAGR) of over 3% between 2024 and 2027.

Paul Wallett, Regional Director of Trimble Solutions, Middle East and India, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the local TEKLA BIM Awards, emphasising the opportunity they provide for companies to showcase their expertise and innovative work. Wallett highlighted the remarkable growth in project development in the Middle East, with megaprojects like NEOM, Red Sea Project, Etihad Railway, and Museum of the Future taking centre stage. He believes that these awards will encourage construction firms to adopt the latest technologies.

Trimble’s vision for hosting the annual TEKLA BIM Awards is to motivate companies to embrace technological innovations and highlight exceptional milestones achieved in previous projects. The awards provide recognition and serve as a platform for raising industry knowledge about new technologies and success stories. By organising this prestigious competition, Trimble aims to deliver value to its customers and inspire the adoption of advanced construction techniques.

Companies participating in the TEKLA BIM Awards can compete in six categories: Commercial Projects, Public Projects, Industrial Projects, Infrastructure Projects, Small Projects, and Sports & Recreation. The entries will be evaluated based on criteria such as the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and collaboration, innovative utilisation of Tekla software, constructability, environmental benefits, and the overall “cool factor” encompassing project uniqueness and execution creativity.

As a leader in construction technology, Trimble is committed to revolutionising both the physical and digital worlds. The company pursues this mission through various strategies, including industry education, a subscription-based business model to facilitate technology accessibility, and the organisation of events and awards programs that foster and promote the construction sector.
