AMC Seals 10 Units for Littering and Plastic Violations

In a determined effort to uphold civic discipline and environmental sustainability, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) intensified its crackdown on public littering and the use of banned plastic products. On Monday, the AMC’s solid waste management department inspected 305 establishments across the city’s western areas, issuing notices to 147 violators. As part of the enforcement drive, 10 units in Naranpura, Vasna, and Navrangpura were sealed for flouting regulations. Additionally, 3.5 kg of banned plastic was confiscated, and penalties totalling ₹1.41 lakh were levied on offenders.

This enforcement action reflects the AMC’s commitment to combating urban waste mismanagement and addressing the environmental hazards posed by non-biodegradable plastic. Among those penalised was Jay Shakti Pan Parlor on CG Road for using prohibited plastic cups. Other establishments in Naranpura’s food market, including Vallabh Store, Tammy Phillips, and Jalaram Khaman House, were also sealed for failing to adhere to the regulations. These closures highlight the seriousness of the issue and the corporation’s intent to deter future violations.
