TN to Upgrade Urban Highways for INR 22 bn

The Tamil Nadu government has recently announced a plan to repair urban roads, schools and transportation systems in the state. With an investment of INR 22 billion, the government aims to rehabilitate 4,600 km of deteriorated roads in metropolitan regions.

In addition to the road repair plan, the government has also launched other development initiatives. The state will invest INR 2.5 billion to add 1,200 additional classrooms to high and higher secondary schools. Furthermore, construction will take place in rural areas to improve schools. With an investment of INR 8 billion, approximately 6,000 classrooms will be built for panchayat union primary and middle schools. The urban highways to be upgraded are expected to improve transportation within the state, benefiting commuters, industries and businesses. The government’s effort to improve roads is expected to boost economic growth in the region.

The plan to invest in school infrastructure is also expected to benefit the state’s education system. With additional classrooms, more students will have access to education, and the quality of education is expected to improve. The construction of classrooms in rural areas will particularly benefit students who may have otherwise faced difficulties in accessing education due to lack of facilities. The government’s plan to invest in urban highways and school infrastructure is expected to have a positive impact on the state’s economy and education system. The efforts are a step towards ensuring a better quality of life for the citizens of Tamil Nadu.
