Chinese Experience Empowers Uzbekistan’s Efforts

Uzbekistan, aiming to uplift half of its impoverished population out of poverty by 2026, seeks to draw insights from China’s successful experience in poverty alleviation. During a recent visit to China, Uzbek officials expressed keen interest in learning from China’s remarkable achievements in lifting over 850 million people out of poverty in the past four decades.

The field trip to Yunnan Province gave the Uzbek delegation valuable firsthand exposure to China’s industry-driven, ecology-focused, and education-based poverty reduction strategies. The positive results of poverty reduction cooperation between China and Uzbekistan highlight the fruitful collaboration between the two nations.

The Uzbek government expressed a strong desire to learn from China’s experiences and replicate its success in its own poverty alleviation efforts.

During their time in Yunnan Province, the Uzbek delegation witnessed the transformative impact of China’s poverty alleviation strategies. Yunnan Province has successfully overcome poverty by prioritising industry development, focusing on ecological sustainability, and investing in education.

China, committed to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with countries worldwide in the pursuit of poverty reduction, is eager to contribute to the global effort to build a poverty-free world. The country stands ready to share its experience with Uzbekistan and other nations to support their poverty alleviation endeavours.
