The state government has readied a blueprint to make the most from the three upcoming national industrial corridors in the state — Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC), Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC), and Hyderabad-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (HBIC).
Interestingly, AP is the only state in the country to have three industrial corridors passing through it. The state government wants to showcase the strength of the proposed industrial nodes in close proximity to various demand centres (Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad) by promising to provide good connectivity from the ports to the hinterland.
The government has planned industrial activity around Krishnapatnam port and large industrial nodes, which include the Chittoor node (VCIC) and Krishnapatnam node (CBIC), which will provide innumerable investment opportunities across a range of sectors — auto, building materials, food processing, electronics, textiles and machinery.
