After one year of launching electric feeder buses, Kochi Metro plans to introduce a second batch of electric buses as feeder services. The Kochi Metro Rail (KMR) has already initiated the tender process for the 15 e-buses which will be introduced in different routes in the city.
KMR is already conducting eight feeder e-bus services on various routes. Currently, the services are run with the support of Maha Voyage Group, a Mumbai-based private group. However, for the second batch, KMR plans to operate the service by procuring buses on its own.
KMR is also planning to launch hydrogen buses as feeder services. The tender process to operate hydrogen buses has already begun.
