New Bus Services Boost Commuter Connectivity

In response to the growing public demand, the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Transport (KDMT) has rolled out new bus services connecting Runwal MyCity to Dombivli Railway Station and Runwal Garden to Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The new routes, designed to alleviate transportation woes, will operate twice during the morning and evening rush hours.

The lack of direct bus connectivity between Dombivli Railway Station and Runwal Garden had long been a source of inconvenience for many residents, including senior citizens, students, and office-goers. These commuters had no choice but to rely on rickshaws, which were often unavailable, adding to the daily frustration. Additionally, many Dombivli residents commuting to Navi Mumbai faced overcrowded buses from Kalyan and Dombivli, further compounding their travel challenges. In light of these concerns, several residents, including senior citizens, approached MLA Rajesh More (Kalyan Rural), who took the matter up with MP Dr. Srikant Shinde. After discussions with Municipal Commissioner Dr. Indurani Jakhar, the go-ahead was given for the launch of the dedicated bus services.

The initiative was warmly welcomed by the local community, especially with over 6,500 residents and 3,000 families residing in Runwal Garden. The bus services were officially launched on Saturday, with MLA Rajesh More, MP Dr. Srikant Shinde, and local dignitaries like Shinde Shiv Sena officials, Mahesh Patil, and Datta Vaze present for the occasion. The new routes are expected to make commuting smoother for local residents, and in case the service receives a positive response, there are plans to extend the number of trips. “If these buses receive a good response, we will extend the trips further,” said MLA Rajesh More, reassuring residents of future improvements in the service.
