MHADA Begins Urgent Repairs After Botawala Building Collapse in Mumbai

Botawala building in Fort collapsed, prompting an immediate response from the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA). The accident, which occurred around 2 PM, caused panic among the building’s occupants, leading to its swift evacuation. While no casualties were reported, the incident has once again drawn attention to the structural vulnerabilities of heritage buildings in the city.

The affected building, a ground-plus-three-storey structure housing 40 commercial units and one residential occupant, has been cordoned off to prevent further risk.
