Delhi Metro Pitampura Station to Feature Elevated Foot Overbridge

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set to enhance connectivity at the Pitampura Metro Station. As part of the ongoing Phase 4 expansion, a new elevated foot overbridge (FOB) is being constructed to link the upcoming Janakpuri West–RK Ashram Marg corridor with the existing Red Line station at Pitampura.

This 180-meter-long FOB will facilitate seamless interchange between the two lines, offering passengers a convenient and direct route between the stations. The structure will be supported by five robust pillars, ensuring stability and safety for commuters. The concourse level of the new station will be elevated 16.7 meters above ground, integrating smoothly with the existing Red Line platform. The Janakpuri West–RK Ashram Marg corridor, an extension of the Magenta Line, is being developed to improve connectivity across Delhi. The elevated section near Pitampura features a 50-meter-long steel span, constructed using a modular approach to minimize disruption to existing metro services.

This engineering feat underscores DMRC’s commitment to maintaining operational continuity while expanding the network. The integration of the elevated FOB at Pitampura station is expected to significantly enhance commuter experience by reducing transfer times and providing easy access between different metro lines. This initiative aligns with DMRC’s broader goals of improving urban mobility and supporting sustainable transportation solutions in Delhi.

As the Phase 4 expansion progresses, the completion of the Pitampura FOB marks a crucial step towards realizing a more interconnected and efficient metro network, catering to the growing transportation needs of Delhi’s residents.
