Originally slated for April 19, the inauguration has been deferred as authorities prioritise the safety of critical infrastructure and passenger security. In response to the attack, a comprehensive security framework has been established along the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL). This includes the deployment of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Indian Army personnel. High-value targets such as the Chenab Rail Bridge and Anji Khad Bridge are under constant surveillance, with snipers stationed to thwart any potential threats .
