Delhi Metro Announces Temporary Changes to Pink Line Schedule

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced temporary changes to the operational schedule of the Pink Line, effective from Tuesday, due to ongoing Phase IV construction activities on the Majlis Park–Maujpur corridor.

These adjustments are expected to last until May 10 and aim to facilitate the expansion and enhancement of the metro network. Commuters on the Pink Line should anticipate delays ranging from 12 minutes to 70 minutes during the morning hours. The first trains from several stations will depart later than usual. For instance, the initial train from Shiv Vihar will now commence at 7:00 AM instead of the regular 6:00 AM. Similarly, the first train from Maujpur-Babarpur will begin at 7:10 AM, and services from South Campus, IP Extension, and Sarai Kale Khan will also experience slight delays.

In addition to morning delays, metro services between Jaffrabad and Maujpur-Babarpur will conclude earlier than usual, with the last train departing at 11:03 PM. This change will remain in effect until May 9, affecting the evening commute for passengers on these sections of the Pink Line. While these temporary adjustments may cause inconvenience, the DMRC has assured passengers that the rest of the Pink Line will operate as scheduled, with minimal disruption. The corporation has been proactive in informing the public through various communication channels, including social media platforms, to ensure commuters are well-prepared for the changes.

The Majlis Park–Maujpur corridor is part of the Phase IV expansion of the Delhi Metro network, which aims to enhance connectivity across the city. This corridor, once completed, will be the first ring metro corridor in India, allowing commuters to travel seamlessly without the need for interchanges. The expansion includes the construction of new viaducts and stations, as well as the installation of larger lifts to accommodate more passengers . The DMRC has emphasized that these schedule changes are temporary and necessary to facilitate the ongoing construction work. Commuters are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated on any further changes through official DMRC channels. The corporation remains committed to minimizing disruptions and ensuring the timely completion of the Phase IV expansion, which will ultimately improve the efficiency and reach of the Delhi Metro network.
