Kashyap, Singh Appointed as Additional Members in Railway Board

In a major administrative reshuffle within Indian Railways, senior officers Rajesh Kumar Kashyap and Dr Manoj Singh have been elevated to critical policymaking positions in the Railway Board.

Both officers, from the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS), have been appointed as Additional Members at Pay Level-16, reflecting the high-level nature of their new roles. Rajesh Kumar Kashyap, currently serving as Chief Administrative Officer (PTS) in Northern Railway, will now assume charge as Additional Member – Commercial. Known for his operational acumen, Kashyap’s new assignment is expected to play a key role in shaping commercial strategies and enhancing revenue generation. Simultaneously, Dr Manoj Singh, who has been serving as the Principal Chief Operations Manager of East Central Railway and was earlier slated for a role as Principal Executive Director (Marketing & Business Development), has now been appointed as Additional Member – Marketing & Business Development.

His promotion signals a strategic shift in Indian Railways’ focus towards market-oriented growth and customer-centric business planning.Both appointments are expected to reinforce the Railway Board’s institutional leadership at a time when Indian Railways is undergoing rapid digital transformation, infrastructure expansion, and service modernisation. Their expertise in commercial operations and marketing development will be crucial in aligning the Railways’ goals with evolving market demands.

These top-level postings reflect Indian Railways’ commitment to strengthening governance, policy execution, and revenue innovation as part of its broader vision for long-term sustainability and growth.
