Shiprocket launches India first AI MCP Server

In a first for Indian eCommerce logistics, Shiprocket has introduced the country’s inaugural Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, an AI-integrated platform that allows autonomous agents to execute key shipping operations using plain natural language commands.

The move positions Shiprocket at the frontier of agentic commerce, eliminating the need for traditional dashboards or APIs in executing logistics workflows. This AI-driven breakthrough enables businesses to check rates, create shipments, track orders, or assign couriers with a single line of instruction—via voice or text. From real-time status updates to scheduling pickups, operations can now be triggered directly by AI assistants and automation tools. “This is not just an integration—it’s a redefinition of how businesses interact with their commerce infrastructure,” said Saahil Goel, MD & CEO of Shiprocket. “The MCP Server shifts us from manual workflows to autonomous, AI-led execution. This is how we enable millions of businesses to work smarter, respond faster, and scale effortlessly.”

The MCP Server enables a host of AI tools—ranging from Claude and Cursor to automation platforms like Zapier—to plug directly into Shiprocket’s logistics infrastructure. Once connected, users can initiate actions such as:
1. Estimating courier rates and delivery timelines
2. Creating or cancelling orders
3. Tracking shipments in real time
4. Assigning couriers based on business rules
5. Managing pickup addresses and scheduling pickups
The MCP also integrates with 7,000+ apps via Zapier, unlocking a universe of low-code automation. For instance, an AI agent could execute, “Track Order ID 12345 and notify the customer if delayed,” without any human intervention. Built on Shiprocket’s scalable infrastructure, the MCP Server delivers enterprise-grade security and seamless integration across AI ecosystems. With hands-free execution, businesses reduce latency between decision-making and operational delivery—cutting down manual effort and improving time-to-action.

As Indian startups and eCommerce firms look to automate scale, the MCP Server offers a competitive edge. By allowing intent to trigger execution directly, Shiprocket is opening the door to truly autonomous logistics. As eCommerce competition intensifies, the integration of conversational AI in logistics could redefine fulfilment speed and customer experience. With the launch of its MCP Server, Shiprocket has signalled a new phase in India’s digital logistics evolution—one where AI doesn’t just assist businesses, but acts on their behalf.
