Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Enhances Gaya Ayodhya Connectivity

The Indian Railways is set to introduce the Gaya to Ayodhya Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, a modern and efficient train service aimed at enhancing connectivity between these two culturally rich cities.

This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of providing world-class, sustainable, and eco-friendly transportation options for short-distance travel. The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will cover the 408 km distance between Gaya and Ayodhya in approximately 6 hours. This is a notable improvement over the current travel times, which often exceed 9 hours on conventional trains. The train is expected to operate six days a week, excluding Sundays, offering a reliable and time-efficient option for passengers. The train’s schedule is designed to accommodate both morning and evening travellers. The expected departure from Gaya is at 05:00 hrs, with an arrival in Ayodhya Dham at around 11:00 hrs. On the return journey, the train will depart from Ayodhya Dham at 17:00 hrs and reach Gaya by 23:00 hrs.

Along its route, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will make stops at several key stations, including Rafiganj, Sasaram, DD Upadhyaya Junction, Kashi, Varanasi Junction, Jaunpur Junction, Shahganj Junction, Akbarpur, Goshainganj, and Ayodhya Dham Junction. The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will feature 16 air-conditioned coaches, providing a comfortable and climate-controlled environment for passengers. The fare for this service is expected to be unreserved and approximately Rs 500, making it an affordable option for daily commuters and tourists alike. This pricing strategy aims to encourage greater use of rail transport, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions associated with road travel.

The introduction of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is part of the Indian Railways’ broader efforts to modernise its fleet and promote sustainable transportation. The train’s design incorporates energy-efficient features and is expected to operate at speeds up to 130 km/h, significantly reducing travel time between Gaya and Ayodhya. This initiative not only enhances connectivity but also supports the government’s commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector. The Gaya to Ayodhya Namo Bharat Rapid Rail represents a significant step forward in India’s efforts to modernise its railway infrastructure and provide sustainable, efficient, and comfortable travel options for its citizens. As the service becomes operational, it is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing regional connectivity, promoting tourism, and contributing to the nation’s environmental goals.
