Noida Film City Construction Set to Begin in June

Construction of Uttar Pradesh’s much-anticipated Noida International Film City is expected to begin by the end of May or early June, as groundwork nears completion in Sector-21 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.

The project, championed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to establish the state as a global hub for film production, media, and tourism. The first phase of the 1,000-acre project will be developed across 230 acres at an estimated cost of ₹1,510 crore. The project is being executed by Bayview Projects LLP, a firm promoted by noted filmmaker Boney Kapoor. According to the company’s General Manager, Rajeev Arora, the geo-technical survey is nearly complete and the building plan will be submitted for approval within days. “We are ready to begin construction as soon as the plan is approved,” said Arora. He confirmed that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will lay the foundation stone, with his office currently finalising the date.

Land levelling, road construction, and site clearing are currently underway. Officials said all required approvals will be expedited to align with the Chief Minister’s development agenda. Processes such as land acquisition and farmer compensation are being handled transparently to avoid procedural delays. YEIDA confirmed that the master plan was approved on 30 January 2025, followed by the signing of the concession agreement with Bayview Projects LLP on 27 June 2024. The right of way for the project was handed over on 27 February 2025. Bayview Projects LLP secured the project after offering the highest gross revenue share of 18% and receiving the Letter of Award in 2024. Phase 1 will include 13 to 14 advanced sound stages and a film institute spanning around 3 lakh square metres. The entire film city will be developed in three phases over eight years, with the remaining 770 acres to be developed in subsequent stages.

The Noida International Film City is expected to transform the region’s creative economy and place Uttar Pradesh prominently on the global film industry map.
