Chhattisgarh to Get Rs 900 Cr Boost with AI Hub and Transformer Plant

Chhattisgarh is set to witness a major technological and industrial boost with two significant investment proposals aimed at transforming the state into a digital and manufacturing powerhouse.

In a meeting held at Chhattisgarh Sadan in New Delhi, ESDS Software Solution Ltd announced plans to invest over ₹600 crore in setting up a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence-based data centre in Raipur. The company’s Chairman Piyush Somani and Vice Chairman Lokesh Sharma presented the proposal to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, stressing its potential to revolutionise the state’s IT infrastructure and contribute to India’s overall digital ecosystem. The data centre will focus on AI, cloud technology, cybersecurity, and digital storage—areas seen as critical to future innovation. Welcoming the proposal, Chief Minister Sai affirmed full government support for the project, calling it a “landmark” in Chhattisgarh’s journey towards realising the Digital India vision.

The facility is expected to create high-skilled employment and establish Chhattisgarh as a leading tech destination. In a parallel development, Karamveer Electronics Limited has proposed a ₹300 crore investment to establish a cutting-edge transformer manufacturing unit in Raipur. During discussions with the Chief Minister, Managing Director Vivek Jain detailed the project’s potential to meet the growing energy demands of the country while making Chhattisgarh a hub for transformer production.

The proposed unit aims to become India’s most advanced transformer manufacturing facility, enhancing capabilities in the power sector. CM Sai hailed the project as an important step toward technological self-reliance and industrial expansion under the “Make in Chhattisgarh” vision. Together, these projects promise to accelerate job creation, bolster infrastructure, and position the state as a key contributor to India’s digital and industrial future.
