Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the electric vehicle division of Jupiter Wagons Ltd, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi-based last-mile delivery platform Pickkup to deploy 300 electric commercial vehicles by the end of 2025.
This collaboration aims to fast-track EV adoption in the mid- and last-mile logistics segment, enabling cleaner and more efficient freight transport across northern India. The partnership’s anchor is the rollout of JEM TEZ, a high-performance electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV) known for its robust payload capacity and superior single-charge range. Following a successful pilot phase, the first batch of JEM TEZ units has already been handed over to Pickkup and is now operational across key corridors, including the Delhi-Chandigarh route. The vehicle has demonstrated impressive performance, clocking a real-world range of up to 220 kilometres per charge under varied urban and intercity conditions.
Pickkup, a rapidly scaling logistics startup with an electric-first fleet strategy, is already operational in major NCR cities and tier-2 clusters like Mohali and Chandigarh. The company offers on-demand, corporate, and warehousing logistics solutions using a technology-driven platform. With the integration of JEM’s EVs, Pickkup is targeting increased reliability and sustainability in delivery operations, especially across high-traffic, high-demand corridors. An official from Jupiter Electric Mobility described the MoU as a strategic step towards meeting India’s clean mobility goals. “We are not merely building vehicles. We are designing solutions that empower logistics operators to embrace clean energy without compromising on profitability or performance,” the official said. “Through this partnership, we aim to accelerate the shift to sustainable logistics by providing zero-emission, cost-efficient alternatives to traditional diesel fleets.”
Pickkup’s CEO echoed the sentiment, noting that the JEM TEZ vehicle’s compatibility with CCS2 charging, extended range, and payload capacity of 1,050 kg mark it as a standout in the electric freight segment. “This gives us a solid edge in the intercity EV logistics space,” the executive stated. “We plan to maximise daily vehicle utilisation—up to 250 km—while reducing operational costs and environmental impact. It’s a game-changer for mid-mile logistics.” The collaboration is expected to play a vital role in shaping scalable, tech-integrated logistics networks that align with India’s net-zero targets. According to industry estimates, commercial vehicles account for a significant share of transport-sector emissions, and electrification of this category remains a critical challenge.
Jupiter Wagons Ltd, traditionally known for its freight wagons, railway components, and defence-grade transportation products, has been diversifying into green mobility solutions through its subsidiary JEM.
