Tesla Leases 24565 sq ft in Mumbai’s Kurla West

Tesla Inc. has leased a 24,565 sq. ft. space at Lodha Logistics Park in Kurla West, Mumbai, marking a significant step in its expansion within India.

This move follows Tesla’s recent leasing of a 30-seater office in a co-working centre in Kurla and a high-profile space in the Maker Maxity complex in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) . The five-year lease agreement, registered on 16 May 2025, was signed between Tesla India Motor & Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Lodha Developers. The monthly rent for the leased space is ₹37.53 lakh, amounting to over ₹24 crore over the lease term. The leased space is expected to serve as a service centre for Tesla’s electric vehicles, with potential for future expansion within the facility.

Lodha Logistics Park is a 400,000 sq. ft. in-city distribution centre catering to last-mile delivery needs of e-commerce, quick-commerce, and cloud kitchen firms. The park’s strategic location and infrastructure make it an ideal choice for Tesla’s service centre, facilitating efficient operations and accessibility for customers.

This lease marks Tesla’s third in Mumbai this year, indicating the company’s growing footprint in the city. Beyond Mumbai, Tesla has leased 5,850 sq. ft. of office space in Pune and has recently taken showroom space in Delhi, demonstrating a multi-city approach to its India expansion .

Industry experts view this lease as a strategic move by Tesla to establish a comprehensive presence in India, encompassing offices, showrooms, and service centres. The company’s expansion aligns with India’s growing demand for electric vehicles and the government’s push towards sustainable mobility solutions.

As Tesla continues to expand its operations in India, the company’s focus on strategic locations and infrastructure development underscores its commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to its customers. The latest lease in Kurla West is a testament to Tesla’s long-term vision for the Indian market and its role in shaping the future of electric mobility in the country.
