Delhi Metro Extends Services for WPL Final Spectators

In a strategic move to accommodate the surge of spectators flocking to witness the thrilling finale of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) cricket tournament, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced an extension of metro services past midnight.

The service extension, effective from the adjacent Delhi Gate station on the Violet Line, will operate until 0015 hrs, providing commuters with a seamless journey following the anticipated clash between the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The DMRC “To facilitate smooth movement of spectators after the conclusion of the Women’s Premier League Final tonight at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Metro service from the adjacent Delhi Gate station (on Violet Line) shall be available till 0015 hrs past midnight.” Acknowledging the collaborative efforts between the Delhi Capitals and DMRC, an official statement from the former expressed gratitude for facilitating extended metro operations, fostering enhanced convenience and safety for fans returning home post-event. The partnership underscores a shared dedication to optimising logistical arrangements, underscoring the pivotal role of public transportation in event management. “Last metro extended till 12.15 am following the WPL Finals. Keeping in mind the safe travels back home for fans after the WPL Final, the Delhi Capitals and the DMRC have come together to ensure fans travelling home after the WPL Finals can take the metro as late as 12.15 am. Delhi Capitals would like to express its gratitude to DMRC for helping facilitate the same and for their support.”
