An Uber India & South Asia executive commented on the firm’s commitment to regulatory collaboration, particularly regarding bike taxi operations. “Uber continues to work with every state … in Maharashtra, we welcome the recent notification finalising rules on bike taxis.” This statement underscores the company’s aim to ensure gender-neutral and equitable access for all riders, while supporting environmentally conscious micro-mobility options. Regarding concerns around ride cancellations, the official noted that Uber will comply with forthcoming government guidelines imposing penalties on drivers for unjustified cancellations.
