Traffic movement between Goa and Belagavi came to a standstill early Tuesday morning following a landslide at the Chorla Ghat section of the highway. Triggered by persistent monsoon showers, the landslide blocked the Goa-side portion of the route at around 4 am, bringing the vital interstate connection to an abrupt halt. Although partial movement resumed by 5:30 am after emergency clearance efforts, it took until the afternoon for full restoration. With rain continuing unabated, authorities have warned of further landslide risks in the days ahead.

The Chorla Ghat corridor is a critical lifeline for daily commuters, goods vehicles, and emergency services linking Goa to Karnataka.
