IRCTC Launches Ashta Jyotirlinga Yatra From Solapur For Shravan Pilgrims

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has announced the launch of a special pilgrimage tour, the Ashta Jyotirlinga Shravan Special Yatra, set to commence from Solapur in Maharashtra on July 19, 2025. This unique spiritual journey will be conducted aboard the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, offering pilgrims a comfortable and seamless way to visit the eight revered Jyotirlingas across India during the auspicious holy month of Shravan. This initiative is spearheaded by IRCTC’s West Zone office, aiming to provide a convenient travel experience for families, groups, and solo travelers.

The comprehensive tour package will cover a series of significant Jyotirlinga shrines, including Dwarka (Nageshwar), Somnath, Ujjain (Mahakaleshwar), Omkareshwar, Nashik (Trimbakeshwar), Aurangabad (Grishneshwar), Parbhani (Parli Vaijnath), and Markapur (Srisailam Mallikarjun). Passengers can conveniently board the train from multiple locations such as Solapur, Kurduwadi, Daund, Pune, Lonavala, Karjat, Kalyan, Vasai Road, Dahanu Road, Vapi, and Surat. The tour packages start from approximately Rs 22,760 per person, with various class options available including Sleeper (Non-AC), AC III Tier, and AC II Tier, catering to diverse preferences.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains are specifically designed to enhance the travel experience, featuring artistic exteriors that proudly showcase India’s rich heritage. Onboard amenities include infotainment systems, CCTV surveillance for safety, and a dedicated pantry car providing fresh meals throughout the journey. These trains can accommodate between 600 and 700 passengers. The all-inclusive package encompasses comfortable train travel, hotel accommodations, on-ground transfers and excursions by bus, all meals served onboard, travel insurance, and professional tour guide services. A senior official noted the significant interest in these religious tourism packages, emphasizing the goal to make spiritual journeys affordable, safe, and accessible. This initiative underscores India’s commitment to promoting cultural and spiritual tourism through modern, accessible means.
