Navi Mumbai is scheduled to experience an 18‑hour water supply disruption from 10 am on Friday, July 18 to 4 am on Saturday, July 19, as the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) undertakes essential Morbe pipeline connection work. This intervention, while temporarily inconvenient for residents, is crucial to enhancing long‑term reliability of the city’s water infrastructure.
The Morbe main pipeline, a critical artery supplying potable water across numerous Navi Mumbai nodes, has suffered repeated leakages along Palm Beach Road near Nerul Sector 46. In response, NMMC officials planned a parallel pipeline installation and will shortly connect the new segment to the existing 1,700 mm diameter line. This scheduled shutdown is a necessary step to integrate and stabilise the supply system. Key zones under direct impact during this interruption include Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli, as well as CIDCO-administered areas such as Kharghar and Kamothe.
