New Delhi To Patna Amrit Bharat Express Set For Regular Service From 31 July

New Delhi is set to benefit from enhanced rail connectivity with the upcoming regular service of the Patna–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express, a newly launched train focused on budget passengers. Inaugurated by the nation’s leader this Friday, the non-air-conditioned service is poised to commence daily operations from July 31, providing an upgraded travel experience. Railway authorities confirm that tickets are already available for booking, promising improved amenities and a smoother journey between the two major cities, thus addressing the needs of a wide range of commuters.

This new Amrit Bharat Express marks the first of its kind on the Patna-New Delhi route and is the fourth such train introduced across the country. While a Sleeper Class ticket from Rajendra Nagar (Patna) to New Delhi is priced at ₹560, slightly higher than the average ₹520 fare of other trains on this route, railway officials justify this marginal increase by highlighting the enhanced passenger experience and jerk-free travel. Train No. 22361, the Rajendra Nagar Terminal-New Delhi Daily Amrit Bharat Express, will begin its regular service from Rajendra Nagar Terminal on July 31, departing daily at 7:45 PM and arriving in New Delhi at 1:10 PM the following day. For the return journey, Train No. 22362, the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Terminal service, will commence regular operations from New Delhi on August 1, departing at 7:10 PM and reaching Rajendra Nagar Terminal by 11:45 AM the next day. The train will operate daily in both directions.

En route from Rajendra Nagar to New Delhi, the Amrit Bharat Express will make eight scheduled stops, including Patna, Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Dubedarganj, Govindpuri, and Ghaziabad. The train’s composition includes eight Sleeper Class coaches, eleven General coaches, two luggage-cum-brake vans, and one pantry car, catering predominantly to general and sleeper class passengers. Prior to the regular service, a special inaugural run from Rajendra Nagar Terminal is scheduled for Friday at 11:45 AM, arriving in Delhi at 4 PM the next day. Another special inaugural run from New Delhi to Rajendra Nagar is planned for July 19 at 6 PM. This new service joins existing Amrit Bharat routes such as Darbhanga–Anand Vihar Terminal, Malda Town–SMVT Bengaluru, and Mumbai LTT–Saharsa. Furthermore, the nation’s leader is also scheduled to launch three more Amrit Bharat trains on July 18, connecting Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal, Darbhanga to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), and Malda Town to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) via Bhagalpur, significantly expanding this network.

This expansion of the Amrit Bharat Express network underscores a strategic focus on improving connectivity and providing accessible travel options for a broad segment of the population. The Patna-New Delhi route’s new service is expected to significantly ease inter-state travel, benefiting numerous commuters with its enhanced features and consistent daily schedule, reinforcing the commitment to modernizing the railway system.
