Indias New Amrit Bharat Trains Begin Service From Bihar

India, a significant leap in its railway network was achieved on July 18, with the virtual flag-off of four Amrit Bharat trains by the Prime Minister from Motihari, Bihar. These new services are set to revolutionize travel, aiming for faster, cheaper, and more comfortable journeys, particularly benefiting the common person and migrant workforce. Designed with enhanced amenities, these trains will significantly boost regional connectivity and cater to high-demand routes, marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s ongoing modernization of its railway system.

Bihar, the Rajendra Nagar Station platform in Patna was alive with a festive atmosphere as local artistes performed and school students gathered. Essay competition winners on “Commonman’s rail” had the special opportunity to ride the inaugural train, highlighting the initiative’s focus on public benefit. The Amrit Bharat train from Patna to New Delhi was among the four flagged off, symbolizing improved connectivity for the region.

Bihar, three of these new Amrit Bharat trains originate from here, with the fourth departing from Malda in West Bengal. The newly launched services include key routes such as Patna to New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi), Darbhanga to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), and Malda Town to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) via Bhagalpur.
