Mundra CONCOR Launches Innovative Bulk Liquid Rail Movement With Tank Containers

Mundra has witnessed a significant development in India’s logistics sector as Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) launched the rail movement of customer-owned specialized tank containers for bulk liquid cargo. This initiative marks a new chapter in bulk liquid logistics, reinforcing CONCOR’s commitment to enhancing multimodal connectivity across the country. It commenced operations with full and part train loads from Mundra Port to key inland destinations like Dadri, Khatuwas, and Barhi, signifying a major step forward for efficient freight transport.

Gujarat’s Mundra Port facilitated the first consignment, which comprised tank containers loaded with vital industrial chemicals. This initial shipment was offered by a key customer for the Inland Container Depot (ICD) Khatuwas on June 26, 2025, marking the successful operational debut of this specialized service. This innovative logistics solution represents a crucial milestone towards building a more efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly supply chain across the nation.
