Delhi Metro Yellow Line Faces Severe Delays Due To Heavy Rain

Delhi’s metro commuters faced significant disruption on Friday as heavy rainfall affected the Yellow Line, stretching travel times dramatically during peak office and school hours. The stretch between Vishwavidyalaya and Central Secretariat stations experienced delays, leaving thousands of daily travellers grappling with extended journeys and increased commuting stress.

According to official sources from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), services on the affected stretch were operating with delays, while operations across other corridors remained normal. Reports indicate that journeys which typically take a few minutes, such as from Vishwavidyalaya to GTB Nagar, extended to nearly 50 minutes due to service interruptions. Officials confirmed that efforts are underway to gradually restore full operations on the impacted route.
