Indian Railways To Launch Online Facility Allowing Passengers To Change Ticket Dates

Indian Railways is set to introduce an online facility enabling travellers to change the date of reserved tickets, a service currently restricted to offline ticket counters. Presently, date changes require passengers to visit railway ticket counters at least 48 hours before departure and pay a fee to modify bookings. The Railways Ministry has directed its IT and operations teams to develop the digital platform, ensuring that it mirrors the existing counter-based process for reliability and continuity. Passengers can expect a similar timeframe for date changes, maintaining the 48-hour advance requirement, while details on the fee structure for online transactions are yet to be finalised.
