Fluorescent Line Markings Deployed to Enhance Safety on Ludh-Khanna NH

In a proactive move to mitigate road accidents and enhance safety measures along the Ludhiana-Khanna National Highway (NH), the Khanna police has initiated the deployment of fluorescent yellow lines at 22 critical locations prone to visibility challenges, particularly during foggy weather conditions.

These fluorescent markings, strategically applied at black spots along the 22-kilometre stretch from Khanna to Doraha, aim to provide enhanced guidance to motorists, thereby reducing the risk of accidents. Notably, four black spots within Khanna and 18 other vulnerable locations have been identified for the implementation of this innovative safety measure. Acknowledging the significance of such initiatives, Punjab’s traffic adviser, Navdeep Asija, emphasised the role of fluorescent markings as an additional driving aid, particularly in adverse weather conditions. He highlighted the potential of such measures to significantly contribute to accident prevention, especially on highways where visibility challenges are prevalent.

The decision to introduce fluorescent line markings underscores a concerted effort by the NHAI and local authorities to bolster road safety infrastructure across highways, including the Ludhiana-Delhi National Highway. Moreover, collaboration with district administrations to address unauthorised entry and exit points on highways reflects a holistic approach towards enhancing safety standards. The identified vulnerable spots, ranging from Bhadla cut to Rajgarh village, represent key areas where visibility challenges and accident risks are heightened. By proactively addressing these concerns through the deployment of fluorescent markings, authorities aim to enhance commuter safety and minimise the occurrence of road accidents.

Beyond the implementation of fluorescent line markings, ongoing efforts to enhance road safety infrastructure include the installation of additional safety measures and the closure of unauthorised access points along the highway. Such initiatives underscore a commitment to fostering a safer and more secure commuting environment for motorists traversing the Ludh-Khanna NH. As authorities continue to prioritise road safety initiatives, the deployment of fluorescent line markings stands as a testament to innovative approaches aimed at mitigating accident risks and safeguarding the well-being of commuters. With a focus on proactive intervention and collaborative partnerships, stakeholders remain poised to achieve notable advancements in highway safety standards across the region.
