New Delhi Mitsubishi Electric India Introduces Breakthrough Semiconductors For Power Systems PCIM 2025

Mitsubishi Electric India is set to unveil its latest breakthrough in power semiconductor technology at PCIM India 2025 in New Delhi, signalling a significant step for energy-efficient industrial and consumer applications. The showcase will feature advanced IGBT and SiC modules designed for renewable energy, electric mobility, and industrial automation, highlighting the company’s commitment to empowering Indian manufacturers with smarter, compact, and high-performance semiconductor solutions for next-generation power systems.

At the exhibition, visitors will experience the company’s new Dual In-line Package Intelligent Power Modules (DIPIPM), which integrate inverter circuitry, gate-drive functions, and protection features into a single, compact module. Available in both conventional IGBT and silicon carbide (SiC) variants, these modules are engineered to improve system safety and efficiency across applications ranging from commercial HVAC systems and solar pumping to washing machines and light industrial drives. Analysts note that such innovations could significantly reduce energy losses while enabling more reliable, durable equipment designs.Mitsubishi Electric India will also display a broader portfolio, including high-voltage HVIGBT modules, LV100 and NX industrial power modules, and automotive-grade semiconductor platforms. These products support critical infrastructure, including utility-scale solar inverters, wind converters, EV charging and powertrains, railway traction systems, and high-voltage DC transmission. The company’s bare-die SiC MOSFETs and RC-IGBT modules further enhance performance, offering low-loss, high-reliability solutions for electric vehicle traction and charging applications.

An MEI senior executive commented, “India is entering a decisive phase in power electronics, spanning mobility, renewable energy, and industrial infrastructure. By introducing the latest Si and SiC semiconductor technologies, we aim to empower local manufacturers with smarter, more reliable solutions while contributing to sustainable industrial growth.”With India’s industrial ecosystem increasingly prioritising energy efficiency and smart power architectures, these advancements provide domestic manufacturers access to globally proven technology. Experts suggest that integrating compact, high-performance modules into Indian production lines could boost energy savings, improve operational reliability, and support broader sustainability targets aligned with net-zero and climate-resilient development strategies.

Mitsubishi Electric’s long-standing experience in electrical and electronic innovation—spanning over a century—positions it as a key contributor to India’s technology ecosystem. From industrial automation and transportation to renewable energy and consumer electronics, the company’s solutions are designed to enable smarter, more sustainable urban and industrial systems, supporting the country’s push towards energy-efficient, future-ready cities and industries.
