Bengaluru CREDAI Honours Irfan Razack Prestige Group Chairman Lifetime Achievement Award

In a move reflecting the real estate sector’s emphasis on professional standards and sustainable urban development, CREDAI National conferred a distinguished award on Irfan Razack, Chairman and Managing Director of Prestige Group, in Bengaluru last evening. The accolade recognises his enduring contributions to India’s real estate industry and his long-standing involvement with the developers’ body at city and national levels.

Mr Razack has held pivotal leadership roles within CREDAI, including serving as President of CREDAI Bengaluru and Karnataka, and previously as Chairman of CREDAI National. Over the years, his engagement has been instrumental in shaping the organisation’s approach to transparency, policy advocacy, and capacity-building for developers across the country. Industry experts note that his leadership reflects a shift toward more structured, accountable, and socially responsible real estate practices. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Razack emphasised the sector’s broader role in urban development. “This recognition reflects the collective trust and support of the industry. Developers contribute to nation-building by creating homes and infrastructure. It is vital to uphold professional standards, earn the trust of homebuyers, and support each other as a sector,” he said. Analysts observed that such statements underscore the increasing focus on sustainable, inclusive housing and equitable urban planning as key components of contemporary real estate practice.

CREDAI Bengaluru and Karnataka praised Mr Razack for fostering initiatives that integrate compliance, transparency, and ethical standards into daily operations. An official noted that the award highlights not only individual achievement but also CREDAI’s ongoing efforts to elevate governance and accountability in the sector, aligning with broader goals of zero-carbon, inclusive, and resilient cities. “Recognising leaders who champion best practices motivates developers to prioritise sustainable and socially conscious projects,” the official added. The award also resonates with emerging trends in India’s urban real estate market, where responsible development, environmental considerations, and community-focused planning are increasingly critical to both market success and social legitimacy. Observers suggest that industry leadership awards such as this reinforce the link between professional recognition and the adoption of practices that benefit urban residents, including green building adoption, equitable housing, and safe infrastructure development.

As the sector navigates challenges including regulatory compliance, rising land costs, and the need for eco-conscious urban expansion, accolades that reward sustained leadership offer both symbolic and practical value. For Bengaluru’s real estate ecosystem, Mr Razack’s recognition represents a benchmark for ethical, sustainable, and professional engagement, serving as a model for current and future developers in India’s evolving urban landscape.
