Beacon Events has made a significant announcement with the launch of the Mining, Metals, and the Circular Economy conference, poised to be a pioneering platform for industry stakeholders to delve into the transformative potential of circular economy principles within the mining sector.

Scheduled to coincide with the renowned International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), the event is slated for the 29th and 30th of October at the ICC Sydney, promising an enlightening exchange of insights and strategies among experts and leaders in the field. With a focus on the holistic integration of circular economy concepts across the entire mining value chain, the conference aims to broaden understanding and awareness of the role, impact, and advantages of embracing circularity within the industry. Spearheaded by Sherene Asnasyous, Event Director at Beacon Events, the initiative underscores the imperative for the mining sector to transcend conventional practices and embrace innovative approaches that extend beyond mere recycling. The inaugural programme of the Mining, Metals, and the Circular Economy conference is meticulously crafted to cater not only to mining producers but also to their stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, and customers. Expert-led sessions will delve into best practices encompassing various facets of the mining and metals sectors, ranging from remining waste commercialisation and metals recycling to mine rehabilitation, community engagement, and the pivotal role of technology in facilitating circularity.

One of the notable highlights of the conference programme includes a presentation by Gustavo Roque, General Manager – Future Use at Vale in Brazil, focusing on reclaiming post-mining landscapes to unlock their social, economic, and ecological potential. Additionally, the event will feature insights from distinguished speakers such as Alan Young, Director of Materials Efficiency Research Group; Katharine Hole, CEO of the Association for the Battery Recycling Industry; Megan Jones, Co-Founder of Circular PV Alliance; and Lina Goodman, CEO of Tyre Stewardship. Overall, the Mining, Metals, and the Circular Economy conference heralds a new era of sustainability-driven discourse within the mining industry, paving the way for innovative solutions and collaborative efforts towards a more resilient and environmentally responsible future. As the sector embraces the principles of circular economy, this pioneering event promises to be a catalyst for transformative change and enduring progress in the global mining landscape.
