In a significant stride towards enhancing rail connectivity in Eastern India, the announcement of a new Vande Bharat train service between Bhagalpur and Howrah has captured the attention of avid travellers and industry observers alike.

Route and Stoppages Covering a distance of approximately 439.57 kilometres, the service strategically halts at pivotal stations including Sahibganj, Barharwa, Azimganj, Katwa, and Naudibdham, ensuring efficient connectivity along the route.

Days of Operation  The Vande Bharat train will operate six days a week, optimising travel opportunities for commuters. Notably, service on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be temporarily suspended, aligning with operational logistics.

Seating Arrangements Exclusively offering chair car coaches, the service prioritises passenger comfort, eliminating the necessity for sleeper accommodations and promoting a seamless day-trip experience.

Journey Time  With a commendable journey time of approximately seven hours and thirty minutes, this service stands out as the swiftest mode of transit over the considerable distance, catering to the time-conscious modern traveller.

Launch Date The formal inauguration of this transformative service awaits the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections and the establishment of a new government, allowing adequate time for administrative and logistical preparations. This collaborative initiative, spanning across the Sahibganj-Bhagalpur-Jamalpur-Kiul train section, symbolises a concerted effort leveraging resources and infrastructure enhancements from diverse Indian railway sectors. Noteworthy renovations underway at stations along the Malda rail division underscore a commitment to enhancing station aesthetics and passenger amenities, promising an elevated travel experience for all.
