Tata Power Installs 150 EV Chargers in Bengaluru

Tata Power has significantly bolstered the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Karnataka by installing over 220 charging points across the state, with more than 150 situated in Bengaluru. This strategic expansion is aimed at facilitating the adoption of electric vehicles, providing seamless and accessible charging solutions for EV users.

The newly installed charging points are equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, allowing consumers to tap, charge, and go with ease. These RFID-enabled chargers are designed to offer a hassle-free experience, ensuring that users can quickly and efficiently charge their vehicles. The charging stations have been strategically placed at key locations within city hubs, housing societies, hotels, malls, office complexes, and along major highways. This includes critical routes connecting Bengaluru with Mangaluru, Davangere, and Mysuru. Additionally, other cities such as Hubballi, Belagavi, Kalaburagi, Chikkamagaluru, and Kodagu are also part of this extensive network. Tata Power’s initiative is part of a broader effort to create a robust EV charging ecosystem across India. The company’s national EV charging network spans 530 cities and towns, incorporating an impressive 86,000 home chargers, 5,300 public charging points, and 850 bus-charging stations strategically positioned to cater to diverse charging needs. This expansion aligns with the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions and supports the government’s push towards electric mobility. The installation of these charging points is expected to significantly reduce range anxiety among EV users, encouraging more people to transition from conventional fuel vehicles to electric ones.

By investing in this critical infrastructure, Tata Power is not only supporting the adoption of electric vehicles but also contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and the promotion of cleaner air quality. This move is a clear indication of the company’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
